Our Philosophy
Pinnacle Outdoor Adventures, created by Diana Rhoten, has been involved in Children’s adventures and learning for 24 years. Our first session of Nature Camp began at the Westerbeke Ranch in 1987. About ten years ago we moved Nature Camp to the VanHoosear Wildflower Preserve and we absolutely love it there. Many thanks to Muriel VanHoosear, Patty Westerbeke, Marilyn Goode, and Joy Moulton who let us use their property for this purpose.
Our Performing Arts Camp is now in it’s 17th year and is held in the historic Sebastiani Theatre, thank you Roger Rhoten!
As with all of our endeavors, our philosophy is to encourage participants to expand their possibilities by challenging themselves in a non-competitive environment. All of our activities are “challenge by choice” meaning that a person may choose not to participate in an activity if they feel uncomfortable.
We are also dedicated to creating a non-competitive environment so that everyone will feel comfortable in trying something new. It is our goal to provide new and exciting experiences!

Nature Camp at VanHoosear Wildflower Preserve:
The VanHoosear Wildflower Preserve is the breath-taking location for our nature camp. Located across from the Westerbeke Ranch, the VanHoosear Preserve offers an exciting and unique environment for children to explore and learn about nature. This will be our Eleventh year at this camp site and we are still discovering new places and adventures! |

Sebastiani Theatre
The historic Sebastiani Theatre provides an excellent location for kids to explore their creativity and try new endeavors while at the same time allowing them to come to know and love one of Sonoma’s treasures. The camp's classes are spread throughout the building making use of the lobby, stage, balcony, and more! Lunch is held in the plaza under the tight supervision of the camp’s counselors and a few classes are held at various places around the plaza including the Sonoma Ballet Conservatory and the community center. Children are always with an adult supervisor. The Theatre is located at 476 First St. East, "On The Plaza" in Sonoma.

Instructors
We are so proud to bring you some of the most talented and inspiring instructors and counselors Sonoma has to offer. We have a saying at Rhoten Productions, "We don't just hire our counselors, We raise them!" Many of our instructors and counselors have been campers for many years and have moved into a leadership role.
